De Jure Journal offers a platform for students to make their inaugural steps in legal scholarship, while also including interviews and contributions by well-established academics and practitioners, including CJEU Judge M. Vilaras and AG M. Szpunar, A. Rantos, ICJ Judge H. Charlesworth, ECtHR Judges P. Lemmens and I. In which language may I write an article and in which language should I write the research plan?
The article may be written in Greek, English, French or German. The research plan should be written in the language of the article.
Do I need to be a student of a specific year or higher to contribute to the Journal?
No. Any student can write an article regardless of their year of study.
What is the role of the Editorial Board? Will I receive guidance in writing the article?
The Editorial Board consists of the academic editors, primarily responsible for correcting the articles, communicating with contributors, and organising the content of the journal, and the linguistic editors, primarily responsible for the linguistic and technical editing of the final texts. A member of the Editorial Board will always be available to offer personalised guidance if that is needed.
Do I have to be a member of ELSA?
No. The journal is not only addressed to ELSA members. It is open to all those who desire to publish their papers on legal research.
I am not a law student at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Can I publish an article?
Of course. Apart from students (undergraduate and postgraduate) at the NKUA or any other academic institution, De Jure welcomes submissions by researchers, lawyers, attorneys, judges and everyone else who conducts research or studies law.
Once my plan has been approved, is it guaranteed that the final product will be published?
No. The process of writing the academic paper is realised in stages and the final product is checked for its validity. Nevertheless, in rare cases that the final product does not meet the standards for publishing after being reviewed by the editorial board, the paper will not be published in the journal.
There is currently no Open Call for Contributors. Can I submit a research plan?
Yes. Contributors are welcome to propose the topic they wish at any time. However, if they wish to write an article on a proposed topic, they should wait for an open invitation to submit research plans.
